The past few days...

Nothing too exciting has been going on around here, but I thought I would just do a quick update. I aced 2 quizzes in my Biology class last week (2 more this week, not feeling as confident though). I worked by myself for the first time Saturday night, it went fine, it was a really slow night (got lots of studying done). We got a boat, kind of. (long story) I went to lunch and a movie (The Waitress, highly recommend it!) with my brother and his wife. Was treated to a lunch today, homemade by Mike. He was watching Bobbie Flay on the food network and was inspired so he ran to the store, got what he needed, and came home and bbq'd. It was pretty darn good! Rylee fell off the deck today, backwards! Luckily only a little scraped up and bruised. Only 4 more days of school left for the kids and I am still trying to decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I guess we'll see.

My Baby is 4!

Where has the time gone? I cannot believe Jenna is 4! All the kids have their own little personalities and such, but something about her is very unique. She has been so different from day 1, I don't really know how to explain it. I think part of it is the fact that I really feel like she is suppose to be the end of our little family, the baby. I am a little sad thinking about that today, but loving the new stage of our lives. I have always said that all my kids were more terrrible 3's than 2's and she has been no different there. The last few days or week she has been a lot less "terrible"; less whining, more polite, less fighting (against me), more cooperative, etc. It has been really nice and I am hoping this "new" Jenna is here for awhile. We love her and I do not know what we would do without her. She adds so much to our family!
Happy Birthday Jenna May!!!

Flowers

Our poppies!

Not sure what these are, but I love them!!!

Over the 9 years( yes it ahs been that long ) we have lived in our house I have added new plants in addition to what the previous owners had planted. One thing they planted that we look forward to every year is our poppies! The kids get so excited when they see the buds and check everyday to see how many have opened. The other day I was leaving for school and noticed the first 2 had opened, I had to get a quick picture. This other plant (I cannot remember what it is) I planted maybe 2 years ago and love it! The foliage is pretty and it is quite full, but my favorite thing is the flowers on it. They are a beautiful, cheery blue, maybe periwinkle. Anyway, they open each morning and as the day goes on they slowly close back up until the next day. Everytime I leave or come home I walk right past and love to see them, they make me happy!

College

I started my Biology class this week at Salt Lake Community College and it is kicking my butt! I think it is going to take me a little bit of time to get back into the swing of school, homework, tests, studying, etc. I like my instructor and the way she teaches, I just hope I can keep up!

Cole's Program

Yesterday Cole's 2nd grade class had a program for their parents. They sang songs they have learned throughout the year. They each had a little speaking part. They also had tables set up with a photo of each child along with a picture they drew of themselves and a poem they wrote about themselves. They sang about 10 songs, some with actions, and they all knew all the words and sang nice and loud. They ended with a slide show of pictures throughout their year in Ms. Randall's class. It was a very nice program, way to go Cole!

The Baptism Weekend

Cole & Noah with Aunt Sara, Wyatt, Mara, & Jenna

Cole & Noah with Mike

This weekend was sooooooo busy and sooooooooo great! My parents were in town to look for a house, to see my boys and my sister's son get baptized, and to celebrate my sister Sara's (who was here with her family from Las Vegas) birthday and graduation from Utah State. Saturday we had a luncheon for the boys and then their baptism. Then we went to my nephew Taylor's baptism and a dinner. It was nice to see the boys take this step in their lives. And really nice to have so much family here to celebrate with us. It will be nice when my parents live here so we can spend time with them on a regular basis.
I also started my job this weekend. I worked my first graveyard shift Saturday night. It wasn't too bad. I was able to sleep for 6 hours on Sunday afternoon and felt fine today. Mike, Jenna & I went to Home Depot today to get some new plants and veggies for the garden. It was a nice to spend time with Mike and work together on the yard. We planted all the plants we bought as well as deep cleaned the deck, which desperately needed it. We bought a new grill today too and are looking forward to bbq weather.

A Crazy Week....

So it has been a week since I posted and it has been a crazy!!!!! one, to say the least: We have gone to 3 more baseball games for the boys and they had bball pictures taken. I have still been training at work which is days 9-2, but tomorrow is my last day, yeah! I spent a few hours on Saturday weeding, yuck! Tonight Mike & I worked on getting the "garden" ready. The kids have had teacher appreciation week all week with a different theme each day, which means a different little gift each day for 4 teachers. My parents flew in today and Sara & her family get here tomorrow so I have been cleaning and getting ready for that. The boys get baptized 0n Saturday so I have been getting things ready for that. The 3 younger kids started swim lessons. Sunday we took a family drive to the Farminton Bay Wetlands to see all the birds. I have been trying to get some exercising in. Mike spent all day Saturday and plus some helping 3 neighbors with his friends bobcat, hauling dirt and leveling yards. And all this is besides the "normal" everyday activities. Life...
